"ouyang?"
local man yearns for best friend to devour him, best friend doesn't remember his transformations, they chase each other in the woods about it, happy spooky season and merry monsterfuck

The Nestorian cross — with four arms, all of relatively equal length, wider at their ends than in the middle — was found all over Asia during the early middle ages, when Christianity thrived there. Here’s one from Turkmenistan:
And from Iraq:

Watching Bucchigiri?! and seeing all the genuinely well implemented references to Arabic art folklore: 🥰🥰😍😘💙❤️🩷
Watching American YouTubers react to it all calling it "Indian" and not even doing that respectfully: 💀💀💀💀💀
#bucchigiri#seriously even if the plot doesn't seem too interesting rn i just LOVE the style#the main character s name is a hidden “Aladdin”#there is actually well written arabic#they even somehow correctly accounted for the difference in writing between modern and medieval#but i see YouTubers reaction saying it's set in some kind of Indian-china fusion#just because the main character lives with his mom in a Chinese restaurant#or another saying “oh yea it's from u know-*does the cliche hand above head Bollywood dance move*”#also the ending has the female character in actually accurate arab clothes that are nit just a sexualised belly dancer outfit#even though i don't like her character#but god dammit this was done with love for arab culture

I'm kinda absolutely horrified by how medieval Europe historically treated cats vs everywhere else in the world. Holy fucking cow
#china: you have to sign a contract to be a good cat owner because you are hiring a mouser#Istanbul: literally a cat paradise to this day the feral cats are well taken care of#Egypt: worshipped them#medieval europe: sign of devil agent of witches kill them all

Tang dynasty period drama (Luoyang 风起洛阳) 2021
Most of the C-drama costumes are restored based on real Tang dynasty paintings from the Mogao Caves. These are some examples.

Happy to be able to share new artwork for Epochs: Course of Cultures! This is the city of Chang'an the capital of the Tang Dynasty, where the herald of the Emperor speaks to the citizens of the city.
I think this is the first time I painted a cityscape in such a composition, a big step out of the comfortzone.
Hope you like it!
Best,
JCH
